NSA boss chase out of office by ‘NDC thugs’ in Kumasi

NSA boss chase out of office by ‘NDC thugs’ in Kumasi

Kwame Baah Mensah, the National Sports Authority’s Ashanti Regional Director, was forcibly removed from his office by unidentified individuals.

Kumasi-based radio station Luv FM sources claim that thugs afflicted to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) broke into the NSA office at Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday morning and locked up every office but the NSA Administrator’s.

He was ordered to leave his office and turn over the keys to his official vehicle and office by the burly men.

Under the command of ASP Kofi Aboagye, Asokwa police officers stepped in to maintain order and enable the Regional Director to leave safely.

The situation drastically changed when more NSA employees in the Ashanti Region backed the thugs’ actions; many were observed celebrating and cheering their boss out of the building.

Inappropriate promotions, victimization, poor working relationships, corrupt practices, and the nonpayment of allowances for four months were among the many accusations made by the employees against their supervisor.

The police assisted the Regional Director in packing his office belongings into a waiting car, and the thugs, who had grown in number, eventually left the area after discussions with them.

The staff will not even allow Mr Baah Mensah to leave with packs of bottled water, insisting the water was purchased with NSA funds.

In a rather unceremonious manner, the Regional Director was booed by the staff before he was escorted into a private vehicle that sped off to the delight of NSA workers, some of whom hurled insults and invectives at their boss.
