NPRA official urges employers to comply with pension contributions

NPRA official urges employers to comply with pension contributions
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Bright Abekah-Mensah, the Greater Accra Regional Head of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), has urged employers across Ghana to fully comply with pension contribution laws to safeguard the retirement benefits of workers.

He made the call during a one-on-one interview at a free Valentine’s Day health screening organised by Plan B FM on February 13 at the Ghana Education Service Tema West office in Tema.

Mr Abekah-Mensah stressed that employers are legally required to register their employees and ensure the timely payment of pension contributions.

He warned that failure to comply could jeopardise workers’ future security and may attract sanctions for defaulting employers.

He further encouraged workers to monitor their pension contributions and report any employer who fails to remit payments, noting that compliance is key to strengthening the country’s pension system and securing workers’ retirement.
