NPP Threats Won’t Stop Peaceful By-Election – NDC’s Aborbi Assures

Nationwide special voting exercise begins today
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, Samuel Aborbi, has strongly criticized former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accusing him of setting what he describes as a “bad precedent” during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, Mr. Aborbi said the violent events that characterized the Ayawaso by-election remain a scar on Ghana’s democracy, adding that the current atmosphere in Akwatia feels like preparations for war instead of a peaceful vote.

He argued that under Akufo-Addo’s leadership, Ghana suffered a lack of proper governance and leadership direction, which, in his view, has contributed to the current tension surrounding the Akwatia poll.

Turning his attention to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Mr. Aborbi cautioned that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has begun making threats as though it were still in government.

Despite these concerns, he assured the public that the NDC is committed to ensuring peace before, during, and after the Akwatia by-election. He emphasized that the party is engaging with the people of the constituency and urging them to come out to vote peacefully to protect Ghana’s democratic process.
