North East Region: Fatal Car Crash Claims One Life, Injures Four Others

A car crash at Loagri near Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region has resulted in one fatality and four injuries.

The incident occurred on Sunday (28 September 2025) at approximately 10:00 AM.

According to eyewitnesses, a tricycle (motorking) with registration number M-25-NR-8553 collided with a Sienta Express vehicle with registration number NR-344-25.

The tricycle driver allegedly veered into the lane of the oncoming vehicle, which was transporting seven passengers from Tamale to Walewale.

The tricycle’s mate died at the scene and was later confirmed dead at the Walewale Government Hospital.

The injured individuals are receiving treatment at the Walewale government hospital’s trauma and emergency ward.

The body has since been buried at the Walewale cemetery yard in accordance with Islamic traditional.
