North East Region: Council of State election to be re-run on February 13 due to tie between 2 candidate

The North East Region Council of State election has concluded peacefully, yet without a clear winner, as two out of the seven candidates received six votes each from the total of twelve delegates.

The candidates who tied are; Saaka Abuba and Asabigi San Malunga Nasamu.

The remaining five candidates received zero votes.

The Electoral Director for the North East Region, Yaw Opoku, highlighted the uniqueness of this situation, noting that such a tie is a rare occurrence in the electoral process.
