NDC will be equally useless as NPP if we do not prosecute corrupt gov’t officials when voted to power – Ashaiman MP

The Member of Parliament for the Ashaiman constituency in the Greater Accra Region Hon. Ernest Henry Norgbey has made an outrageous statement about his party National Democratic Congress  (NDC) that they will be as useless as the New Patriotic Party NPP if, they (NDC) refuses to prosecute officials of this government when they they are voted into power in 2024 for the atrocities they have put Ghanaians into.

Speaking Ebaanosen  hosted by Ohene Kinnah on Plan B FM, Hon. Norgbey stated that, the rate at which corruption has taken over the entire administration of the New Patriotic Party needs to be dealt with to serve as a deterrent for others to not repeat the same attitude.

“I will be highly disappointed in John Mahama if NDC comes to power and does not prosecute corrupt NPP government officials because he believes that the current administration has milked the country dry”

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has strongly criticized the decision by Dr. Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, to delegate the director of Security to accept a petition on his behalf from protesters of Tuesday’s OccupyBoG protest.

The minority described the decision by the Dr Addison as appalling and disappointing.

The leadership of the OccupyBoG protest was met by Wing Commander Kwame Asare Boateng and a host of the Bank’s leadership, who told the protesters that Dr. Addison was in a meeting with a team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and was therefore unavailable to receive the petition

But the Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson described the decision as disrespectful and refused to present the petition until the governor meets the minority leadership in person.

“It is very disrespectful not to receive the petition himself. Not even the deputy is here, and we never said we were going to present our petition to security, and that we would not give you the petition. Now that he has decided to disrespect us, we will not present our petition, and so we will go and come back again.”
