The founder and leader of Garnet Ministry Apostle Paul Gborson at Spintex in Greater Accra Region has emphatically stated on Plan B FM morning show NKOSUONSEM hosted by Nana Yaw Abrompah, that marriage counseling is not biblical but rather is the responsibility of the elders in the families to teach the yet-to-be couple the importance of family or tribe they are entering for marriage for its sustainability rather than wasting time on marriage counseling in the church.
“If we can go back and adopt the olden day’s marriage system where adults are nurtured for marriage because it sustained marriages as compared to recent ones”.
Apostle Gborson stressed that societal pressure has become one of the factors contributing to broke or divorce in recent times,
” Most adults nowadays want flashy weddings so that people will talk about, but later will result in debt battling which could probably lead to misunderstanding among the new couple hence divorce”
Madam Akosua Pekyepeekye a counselor also advised adults planning to get married not to spend huge money on weddings (marriage ) but rather invest that money in something that can generate income to support their home, established home business is a step in the right direction to sustain marriage instead of organizing big weddings to please friends and society.
