A lifeless body of a young male was found at Mustapha Plaza, Gomoa Potsin Junction, Gomoa East District, reportedly connected to electrical cable theft.

Information gathered revealed the body was discovered early Friday with electrical cables beside it.

A bag containing hazardous items and an unregistered motorcycle were found at the scene.

Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Oheneba Ademah disclosed that residents in the area had complained over stealing in the area for sometime.

He reported that the young man was known as an alleged thief who had been monitored for sometime.

He said the residents told him that the young man and other suspected thieves regularly break into their project sites of homes to steal.

The deceased, he stated, had come to the area Thursday evening to allegedly steal but managed to escape, but luck eluded him Thursday dawn since he was caught.

He was beaten with clout, sticks, and other items until he reportedly died.

Oheneba Odemah added that some residents called the police to intervene but could not come since they had no means of transport.

The mortal remains of the deceased have been retrived while an investigation is underway.
