President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day working visit to the Ahafo Region on Friday as part of his Resetting Ghana Tour, with planned visits to key infrastructure and agricultural projects.
The President is expected to inspect ongoing projects, receive progress briefings and engage residents on government policies aimed at promoting local economic growth.
Key stops on his itinerary include a poultry, meat and feed processing facility at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality, the Tepa–Goaso Road project being executed under the government’s Big Push Programme, and the Ntontroso Bridge, which connects Acherensua, one of the region’s major food-producing areas.
President Mahama will be accompanied by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku; Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza; Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga; Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner; and other government officials.
The visit will conclude on Saturday with an interactive town hall meeting dubbed Resetting Ghana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama, at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso.
The engagement is expected to bring together local chiefs, residents and government officials to discuss development projects in the region, gather feedback on national initiatives and address concerns affecting communities.
The tour forms part of the President’s engagements with citizens and assessments of ongoing development projects across the country.
