A Communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), for Tema Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Richard Anning has said that, the laws of Ghana must be allowed to work and deal with whoever is involved in illegal mining.

Richard expressed dissatisfaction with how illegal mining activities is devastating forest reserves, farm lands and water bodies.

Richard emphatically stated that, some people are nation reckers and those people don’t want the progress of Ghana.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, Richard Anning emphasized that what is bad is bad irrespective of whoever is involved. Either the person is from NPP, NDC or any political party or movement.

“Politicizing everything in the name of political party is causing more harm than good in the country. What is bad is bad and it needs to be condemned irrespective of his or her political affiliations” he noted.

“Whether is Akufo-Addo, John Mahama, Gabby, or Ibrahim Mahama who is involved in illegal mining, it needs condemnation and the laws of the Country must be allowed to deal with the person” he stated.

Richard Anning also condemned the issuance of mining licenses in Accra to Miners to go to communities and mined in forest reserves, water bodies and farm lands.
