Kofi Bentil criticizes young politicians over ‘spiteful’ and disrespectful conduct

The Grand Robbery Called Agyapa Is still being Cooked; We’ll Resist It – Bentil

IMANI Africa Vice President and private legal practitioner, Kofi Bentil, has criticized some young politicians for what he describes as a growing culture of spite, disrespect and personal attacks in political discourse.

According to Mr. Bentil, some young politicians struggle to engage in meaningful political debates without resorting to insults and denigrating their opponents, including senior figures.

In a post on his Facebook page, he wrote: “Some young politicians are so spiteful and disrespectful of others, including their seniors, that they can’t hold a debate without insulting and denigrating others.”

Although he did not name the politicians he was referring to, Mr. Bentil expressed concern about what he considers a lack of civility and substance in political engagements.

He further alleged that some of these politicians have little to show for their public careers beyond what he described as “political loot.” He suggested that their display of wealth and influence could be linked to ill-gotten gains.

Mr. Bentil warned that the political fortunes of such individuals could eventually change, leaving them isolated because they may have failed to build genuine relationships and friendships outside their political circles.

His comments have sparked discussion online about the conduct of Ghanaian politicians and the need for greater civility, respect and substantive debate in the country’s political discourse.
