The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has announced that its ongoing strike remains in force despite what it describes as progress in negotiations with the Chief Justice and Management of the Judicial Service.
In a statement dated November 2, 2026, JUSAG said its leadership and the leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Judicial Service of Ghana (SSAJUG) held a meeting with the Chief Justice and Judicial Service Management to resolve the impasse.
According to the association, the meeting was progressive, with Management expressing commitment to working with the government to address JUSAG’s demands and bring the industrial action to an end.
JUSAG also disclosed that it had sighted a revised letter from the Ministry of Finance regarding the payment of allowances.
It said Management had further tabled the outstanding issues before the Office of the President for expedited resolution.
The association commended the Chief Justice and Management for their interventions but indicated that it was awaiting the outcome of the engagements before its National Executive Council (NEC) makes a decision on the next course of action.
However, JUSAG stressed that the strike had not been called off and would remain in force until the government provides a revised and improved approval that satisfies its demands.
The association assured staff and the general public that it would communicate any decision on the status of the industrial action once there are further developments.
