The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has officially announced that Friday, April 3, 2026, and Monday, April 6, 2026, will be observed as statutory public holidays across the country.
In a statement issued and signed by the Minister, the general public was informed that the two dates mark the Christian observances of Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively. As such, citizens are expected to recognize and observe the days as national holidays.
The declaration forms part of Ghana’s annual recognition of key religious holidays, allowing Christians nationwide to commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Public institutions, businesses, and organizations are therefore expected to adjust their operations in line with the holiday schedule.
