Include Ghana’s total debt incurred under NPP in your talk – Dr Kofi Amoah to Bawumia

Economist and businessman Dr Kofi Amoah has challenged Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lay bare the debt situation of the country.

He insists that this should not be a secret.

Therefore, Dr Amoah is calling on the Vice President to honestly tell Ghanaians the total debt the New Patriotic Party (NPP) inherited and the total debt now.

“Bawumia’s Feb 7 talk must include this,” he wrote on Tuesday, February 6.

This demand comes a day before the Vice President delivers an address at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Dubbed ‘Bawumia Speaks’, the address is expected to touch on his vision for the country as he leads the NPP into the December 7 elections.

The address at 4:00pm will be themed: ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future’.

Dr Amoah, an entrepreneur as well, insists the lecture or address should touch on the current debt situation.

“We expect the NPP government to honestly tell Ghanaians in whose name and upon whose implicit guarantee of payment, debts are incurred.”
