I am ashamed the President hasn’t assented to the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill – Independent Parliamentary candidate

Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Frederick Aniagyei has said that he is ashamed the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo hasn’t assented to the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill.

In an exclusive interview with Ohene Kinnah on Plan B FM’s ‘Ebaanosen’ on Tuesday, 19 November 2024, Hon. Aniagyei expressed disappointment in the delay of the president’s assent to the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill.

The Supreme court has scheduled December 18, 2024, to deliver its judgement on the constitutional challenge against the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill.

The case, which has been pending since May 2024, faced criticism from proponents of the bill who accused the Chief Justice of delaying its resolution.

The Judicial service clarified that the delay was due to the failure of the parties to submit the necessary documents to advance the case.

“If the president’s assent to the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill will help the country. Free dialysis policy which the politicians think will pull votes for them will start very soon and that is the behavior of political parties” he stated

“I would be glad if the president assents to the Anti-LGBTQI+ bill before 2024 December 7 polls for sanity and humanity to prevail” he noted.

“Let’s think about the generation of Ghana first” he stated.

Vote for independent candidates in the December 7 polls and ignore political parties destroying the country.

Vote for Frederick Aniagyei at the Tema Central Constituency. I’m no 3, Asieho.
