Governance is not a concert Party – Richard Anning defends free SHS

2024 Election: Anyone who misbehaves would be shot dead – NPP’s Richard Anning
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An NPP communicator for Tema Central, Richard Anning, has cautioned against what he describes as attempts by the NDC to “dirty” the Free Senior High School policy through propaganda. Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, he emphasized that governance is a serious business and not “a concert party” for political theatrics.

According to him, thousands of Ghanaian graduates have already benefited from Free SHS, making it one of the most impactful social interventions introduced by the NPP government. He argued that the opposition should not be allowed to downplay or distort the value of the policy for political gain.

Mr. Anning also criticized the NDC’s position on the double-track system, stressing that it is not a political arrangement but a practical measure to ensure continuous access to secondary education despite infrastructural limitations. He warned that abolishing it without a proper alternative would force many students to stay home, disrupting their education.
