The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has issued a public warning over AI-generated videos circulating on social media that falsely appear to feature its Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
In a public notice, GoldBod cautioned the public that neither the institution nor its CEO will ever request money transfers, fees, banking details, or mobile money information through social media, phone calls, or messaging apps.
The Board urged anyone who receives such requests not to engage with the scammers but to report the incident immediately through GoldBod’s official communication channels.
GoldBod also advised the public to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of any communication before taking action, stressing the importance of staying alert to the growing threat of AI-powered impersonation scams.
