Ghanaians voted for you to come and solve problems not to create problems -NDC’s Mello to Akufo-Addo

A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ashiaman Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Francis Kwasi Badu Mello has said that, Ghanaians voted President Akufo-Addo to  to help solve problems in the country but not to create problems.

Kwasi Badu Mello expressed his disappointment in Akufo-Addo and Bawumia on how the pair are handling illegal mining ‘galamsey’ issues in the country.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Mello stated that various stakeholders have raised concerns asking the government to act as a matter of urgency but Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have rejected all these calls.

“The president and his vice are all engaging in illegal mining ‘galamsey’ activities that is why they have kept mute and not acted” he alleged

“People engaging in galamsey activities to destroy our water bodies, forest reserves and farmlands are walking freely but people protesting against galamsey have been arrested and remanded for two weeks in police custody” he noted.

Mello added that, the Ghana he knew under previous governments is not the Ghana he is seeing now under Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia’s administration.
