Hon. Owusu Bempah, Assemblyman for Gyatabu Electoral Area and Chairman of Tema West Zonal Council, has issued a stern warning against the illegal dumping of filth in local communities, emphasizing that it’s against the law.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nyansapɔ Fie show, hosted by Nana Asabea, he stressed the need to cease irresponsible garbage burning, which poses health risks and threatens others.

He urged those who intentionally dump garbage in gutters during rains to stop, as it endangers others and causes flooding.

Regarding the filth in marketplaces, he noted that MMDAs are responsible for providing dustbins, and service providers must also take apt measures to prevent unlawful garbage and land pollution.

The Assemblyman’s call to action aims to maintain a clean and healthy environment, and he encourages the public to report or arrest perpetrators who dump filth in localities.
