A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, Samuel Aborbi popularly known as ‘Aban’ has lamented that, Ghanaians doesn’t need smartphones to survive as the flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to give out mobile phones to Ghanaians on credit.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuonsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Thursday, 15th August 2024, Mr. Aborbi said, Dr. Bawumia shouldn’t forget that, the NPP government has failed Ghanaians and it will surely reflect in this year’s election.

“Dr. Bawumia and Nana Akufo-Addo promised Ghanaians heaven but we are at hell. The sweet words you quoted to Ghanaians are now bitter. You deceived electorates way back 2016 and due to your unfulfilled promises, some are dead but don’t forget most of us are alive today and we will vote against you in the December polls” he noted.

This come after the independent Presidential candidate and leader of the Movement for Change (MFC), Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen calling on Ghanaians ahead of the December 7th elections, to prioritise substance over the statements and soundbites commonly found in the manifestoes of the two leading political parties in the country.

These statements, he argued are made without real substance, which explains the parties inability to follow through on their commitments.

Mr. Alan made these remarks during a media briefing in Accra, where he introduced the details of the Great Transformational Plan (GTP).

He urged Ghanaians to move beyond sensationalism and focus on substance, which he believes is encapsulated in the GTP, a Blueprint for the county’s transformation.
