Speaking at a brief ceremony at the national mosque in Accra on Friday (14 July), Damparesaid, “I want my father (National Chief Imam) to give myself and my colleagues the opportunity to go across the country in all the Muslim communities to engage the leaders, and our brothers and sisters so that we will build a very strong police-muslim community partnership.”

He said his outfit strives to create a more friendly police service.

“This will help us to ensure that the country is secure, the country is peaceful and law and order is maintained beyond measure.

“Now we are targeting the faith-based organisations and for that we need the blessing of my grandfather (National Chief Imam), when we cover all areas we will be in a better position to know the type of security and law to bring forth,” the police chief said.
