The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that funds for the purchase of perishable food items for Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) have been transferred to the accounts of the respective schools.
In a letter dated July 15, 2026, and signed by Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Access, Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, on behalf of the Director-General, GES directed all Regional Directors of Education to inform heads of SHS and SHTS about the release of the funds.
The payment covers the period from March 1, 2026, to September 4, 2026, for SHS 2 and SHS 3 students.
Heads of schools have been instructed to submit official receipts acknowledging the funds received to the Director-General of GES through their respective Regional Accountants.
GES said it is relying on the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of the directive.
