The Ghana Education Service (GES) has engaged the leadership of teacher unions over concerns raised by teachers regarding the substantive dates applicable to the 2025 teacher promotion exercise.

The engagement was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as Management of the GES met with representatives of the teacher unions to discuss the concerns surrounding the dates for the 2025 promotion.

According to the GES, Management has taken note of the concerns raised and will engage further with the teacher unions to find a resolution to the matter.

The Service said it remains committed to reaching an amicable settlement and called for the continued support and cooperation of teachers as discussions continue.

The latest engagement comes amid concerns from teachers over the dates being applied to the 2025 promotion exercise and their implications for affected teachers.

The GES has assured stakeholders that it will continue discussions with the teacher unions with the aim of resolving the matter.
