GES Cautions Parents Against Seeking New School Placements for Their Wards

GES Begins Public Sensitization On School Selection Into SHS Today
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has expressed concern over the increasing number of parents visiting various schools to seek fresh admissions for their children instead of accepting the schools assigned to them through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, the Tema West GES Director, Mr. Isaac Mensah, noted that this practice has become a major burden for the Service. He urged parents to allow their children to attend the schools where they have been placed based on their examination results.

According to Mr. Mensah, if parents believe that the schools or courses given do not match their children’s interests or preferred programmes, they should visit the GNAT Hall, which serves as the official resolution center for addressing placement-related issues.

He assured parents that all tutors in the various schools are well-trained and capable of providing quality education. Mr. Mensah further highlighted a new initiative by the Service known as Continuous Professional Development (CPD), designed to build the capacity of teachers and strengthen their ability to deliver effectively in classrooms.
