Four Dead, Scores Badly Injured In Ghastly Accident On Accra-Kumasi Highway

Western North Region: Over 13 People Involved In A Car Accident
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Four passengers on board a Toyota Hiace 2020 model with registration number GC7230-21 died upon impact. Two other vehicles, a salon car [crushed beyond recognition], and an unregistered Nissan Pathfinder were also affected.

The accident occurred just around Aboabo off the Nsuta-Kibi stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway. Scores on board these three vehicles have been badly injured. According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota Hiace was leading the two other vehicles from Accra to Kumasi lane, when another vehicle inbound sped towards them.

Unfortunately, there was a broken-down cargo truck on the Kumasi-Accra lane that constricted the road. The Toyota Hiace attempted to manoeuvre its way through, and the other two followed.

The vehicle in-bound nearly collided with them and in an attempt to avoid it, the string of vehicles from Accra grind against the body of the cargo truck. The driver side of the Toyota Hiace was ripped off.
