Fisherman Arrested for Defiling 13-Year-Old Girl in Apam
A 49-year-old fisherman, identified as Wofa Samuel Armah, popularly known as Kofi Nyan, has been arrested after a disturbing video emerged showing him sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in a ghetto at Mudford, a suburb of Apam in the Central Region.
The shocking footage, which has since gone viral, was first shared by Crime Check TV Ghana. In the video, the suspect is heard saying in Fante, “Me w)w de ate ka. One hour biaa y3 GHC 200,” meaning “You owe me money, every hour costs GHC 200.”
Kofi Nyan claimed the assault was a way for the minor to “repay” GHC 800 she allegedly stole from him. Despite the girl’s cries and pleas to stop, he insisted she endure the sexual act, saying he knew she did not have the money.
Witnesses at the scene captured the horrific incident, with some bystanders shockingly encouraging the act while others watched in silence.
According to police reports, the suspect lured the young girl into the ghetto before committing the act. He reportedly told her that he would “sleep with her till 12 pm” to teach her a lesson.
The victim has since been taken to the St. Luke Catholic Hospital for medical examination and treatment. Police confirmed that Kofi Nyan has been arrested and will be put before court, while four accomplices who were present during the incident are currently on the run.
