According to a statement issued by the Service, the personnel from the Bunso Fire Station received a distress call at 1504hrs and responded to the scene within five minutes.
Efforts by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have saved Linda Dor, a popular rest stop along the Accra-Kumasi Highway from ruins after its kitchen was gutted by fire.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
According to a statement issued by the Service, the personnel from the Bunso Fire Station received a distress call at 1504hrs and responded to the scene within five minutes.
“Upon arrival, the crew sighted the fire raging in the kitchen, the firefighters promptly deployed a hose reel, confining the fire to the kitchen and bringing it under control by 1517hrs. The fire was fully extinguished at 1520hrs.”
The fire destroyed a chicken stock, an oven, and some utensils.
The efforts of the officers, however, prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.
Meanwhile, the GNFS is yet to determine the cause of the fire.
