FC Samartex 1996 have announced that the Accra Sports Stadium has been approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the venue for our Champions League preliminary round matches.

This prestigious opportunity allows the Ghana Premier League champions to showcase their talents on an international stage and represent the country in one of Africa’s most esteemed football competitions.

On August 25, 2024, the Timber Giants will host the Cameroonian champions, Victoria United FC, for the second leg of the preliminary round.

The first leg of the tie will be played a week earlier on August 18, at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe, Cameroon.

This match is not just a pivotal moment for the club but a significant event for Ghanaian football.

Samartex call upon all cherished supporters and the wider sporting community to rally behind them in their maiden continental appearance.

The winner of the tie will progress to the second preliminary round where they potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.
