Despite being granted bail, Josephine Panyin Mensah, the lady at the center of the alleged fake kidnapping and pregnancy case in Takoradi, remains in police custody.

On Monday, September 27, 2021, the Takoradi Habour Circuit Court A presided over by His Honour Michael Cudjoe Ampadu granted the accused GHS50,000 bail with two sureties.

The suspect, however, has not been able to meet the bail terms and still in police custody.

She was accused of misleading a public officer and instilling fear and terror in the public. She, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

According to the police the suspect confessed to faking the kidnapping and pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the accused’s lead counsel, Philip Fiifi Buckman, stated that the accused’s family is attempting to meet the bail terms.

The case has been adjourned until October 14, 2021.
