Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu, Tema Metropolitan Director of the National Commission for Civic Education, asserts that failure to cohere in harmony is unconstitutional and punishable by law.

She made this known to Odiamono Kwaku Gyimah on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme “Nyansapɔ Fie”, explaining that tackling tribalism requires interest and tolerance, emphasising that Ghanaians must live in harmony to avoid self-destruction based on tribal differences.

On his part, Fidel Nii Akuffo Bortey, NCCE Tema West Director, stressed the importance of tolerance at all levels, stating it’s the right thing to do.

He highlighted the need for Ghanaians to protect each other’s cultures, citing the Rwandan example, and answering a caller’s question, said, cohesion prevents intolerance, adding, “it is always good to preserve one’s culture”. He reiterated that tolerance is key.
