Barring any last-minute changes, electricity and water utilities tariffs are set to increase by 27% and 9.5% for the first and second quarters of 2025.
According to sources, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) Board convened a meeting to discuss the quarterly tariff review today, Friday, April 11, 2025.
However, the meeting ended in a deadlock and is scheduled to reconvene at 12 pm today (Friday) to continue discussions on the proposed tariff increments.
Key factors that influence electricity tariff reviews include the exchange rate, inflation, Weighted Average Cost of Gas (WACOG), generation mix, and the cost of fuel and natural gas.
