Some business owners who operate within the Accra Sports Stadium are without electricity to power their refrigerators to keep beverages cold for sale.
This follows the Electricity Company of Ghana’s decision to cut power to the sports stadium for owing about G¢508,000.
In an attempt to recoup some of its liabilities, ECG has taken steps to disconnect some key state institutions that owe the company for months, including the Ghana Airports Company.
Meanwhile, some business owners who spoke off-record alleged that they have paid rent and utility bills to the tune of about GH¢100,000 to managers of the Accra Sports Stadium and wonder why they should bear the consequences of the disconnection.
