ECG Announces Power Interruption In Selected Areas Today For Planned Maintenance

ECG Shuts Down Somanya Office Over Safety Concerns

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025, across several regions in the country, with power expected to be interrupted in dozens of communities.

According to notices issued by ECG regional offices, the exercise, which forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and ensure network reliability, will take place between 9 am and 6 pm, depending on the location.

Ashanti Region

In the Ashanti Region, two separate maintenance operations will affect a wide range of communities. From 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., residents in Santase, Odeneho Kwadaso, OWASS, CAC University, Fankyenebra, Patase, Apire, Ampatia, Ahodwo, RCC, Asokwa, Adum, Fante New Town, Asafo, Kumasi Shopping Mall, K Poly, Afari, Seidi, Hiawu-Besease, Nerebehi, and Mankranso will be affected.

Other impacted areas include Boatenkrom, Sepaase, Nkawie, Agogo, Abuakwa, Pokukrom, Tanoso, Kasapreko, Abakomade, Mpasaetia, Ntensere, Tabre, Denkyembuoso, Yabi, Kromoase, Agric Nzema, Akyeremade, Twedie, Foase, and Antoakrom.

A second operation in the region will affect Manso Nkwanta, Nweneso, Trabuom, Boko, Manso Adubia, Bantama, Kwadaso Bohyen, Kokoso, Abrepo, Asubonteng, Bronikrom, Ohwim, Barekese, Kronum Cement, Heman, Nketia, Asuofua, CONSAR Quarry, Adankwame, Adugama, Naachia Quarry, Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang, Tetrem, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom, Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, and KCG Company.

Greater Accra Region

In the capital, ECG says maintenance works will lead to outages in Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, New Bortianor, Red Top, Russia, Dansoman Sahara, Mama’s Inn, Wesley Grammar, King Solomon, Dansoman SSNIT Flat, Zodiac, and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tema Region

Communities in Bediako, Sackey, High Tension, Golf City, Q-Farms, Japan City, Santor, Aunty Araba, Agbeshie Laryea, Nelplast, Kubekro, Level 400, and neighbouring areas will also experience interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Volta Region

Three separate maintenance projects in the Volta Region are scheduled. The first will affect Hodzo and its surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A second operation will impact Klehorme, Ziome, Gbugblakope, Duta, Gakli, Akporkploe, Gbawoeme, and nearby communities.

Public advisory

In all notices, ECG has expressed regret for the inconvenience the power cuts may cause and has assured customers that the planned works are critical to enhancing the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected areas.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and plan ahead to mitigate the impact of the scheduled power outages.
