The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works that will cause temporary power outages in several communities in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, October 27.

The exercise, according to the power distribution company, forms part of efforts to improve electricity service delivery.

The scheduled interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting communities across several areas of the region.

In a notice issued on Monday, October 26, ECG said the maintenance works are necessary to improve its services to customers.

“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage,” the company stated.

Among the affected communities are Hilltop, Trabuom, Ofoase, Boko, Yabi, Hwediem, Nweneso, Moseaso, Manso Nkwanta, Suntreso, Manso Nkwanta, Agroyesum, Mpatuam, Bonteso and Tetrem.

Other affected areas include Adansi Asokwa, Ayokoa, Kojo Nkwanta, Fumso, New Edubiase, Apagya, Adansi Praso, Assin Praso, Bodwesango, Nsueam, Banka, Pipiiso, Nsuta and Obonsu Wuruyie.

ECG said the interruption would also affect surrounding communities in the listed areas.

The company apologised to customers for the inconvenience the exercise would cause.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the notice added.

Residents and businesses in the affected communities are advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled interruption and plan for the restoration of electricity after the maintenance works.
