Dr. Yaho Nyaho-Tamakloe: Akufo-Addo wants to turn our nation over to the military

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe calls for resignation of Defence Minister over Ashaiman military invasion
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

New Patriotic Party (NPP) founder Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has voiced issues regarding President Akufo-Addo’s leadership style. According to him, the country is moving toward military dictatorship as a result of the president’s policies. The president’s actions, he said, show inclinations that might threaten Ghana’s democratic system and open the door for the military to take over.

The current political environment necessitates introspection and a dedication to preserving democracy, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe emphasized. Ghana’s stability depends on upholding democratic values and making sure the rule of law is upheld, he said, expressing concern over the president’s style of government. He claimed that actions that allude to the subversion of democratic principles can foster an environment that encourages non-democratic interventions, which he feels would be detrimental to the advancement of the nation.

The seasoned politician added that maintaining the constitutional framework that has governed Ghana since its democratic transition is a duty that comes with leadership. He stressed that democracy must be preserved at all costs and urged all parties involved to put the country’s general welfare first.
