COCOBOD pays GH¢237m for 50,000 metric tonnes of Cocoa

The Head of Public Affairs at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Jerome Kwaku Sam, has announced that GH¢237 million has been paid to cocoa farmers for 50,000 metric tonnes of cocoa.

In a post on his Facebook wall, Mr. Sam stated that COCOBOD has commenced payment for the said quantity, describing the development as a positive step.

The payment is expected to ease concerns among farmers and signals progress in settling financial commitments within the cocoa sector.
