CJ Suspension: Resign Peacefully or Be Sacked – Samuel Aborbi To Chief Justice

CJ Suspension: Resign Peacefully or Be Sacked – Samuel Aborbi To Chief Justice
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A member of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Samuel Aborbi, popularly known as ‘Aban’, has called on the Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude Araba Essaba Torkornoo, to resign peacefully or risk being dismissed by the President.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Thursday, April 24, 2025, Aborbi expressed strong dissatisfaction with the conduct and perceived inaction of the Chief Justice.

“Fifty-seven percent of Ghanaians have lost trust in the judiciary due to the actions and inactions of Her Ladyship Gertrude Araba Essaba Torkornoo,” he said.

He added that, “The Resetting Ghana agenda has begun. We started with the IGP, now we are addressing the Chief Justice, and next in line is the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.”

Aborbi stressed that rebuilding public confidence in the judiciary is crucial, and that trust cannot be restored unless the Chief Justice steps down.

“For justice to prevail in Ghana, Ghanaians must trust the judiciary. And for that trust to be restored, the Chief Justice must be removed,” he insisted.
