A Christian cannot use active participation in church or religious activities as a cover for continuing to live in sin, Captain Jesus of Jesus Prayer House has cautioned.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuonsem, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, Captain Jesus said serving God must be reflected not only in a person’s religious activities but also in their everyday conduct.
He stressed that involvement in church does not automatically make a person righteous if their lifestyle continues to contradict God’s teachings.
Referring to Proverbs 1:10 onwards, Captain Jesus urged Christians to be careful about the company they keep and resist pressure to participate in wrongdoing.
He explained that the Bible provides clear guidance on how believers should conduct themselves and avoid being influenced by people who encourage sinful behaviour.
According to him, a person cannot deliberately remain in sin while claiming to serve God, because the two lifestyles are fundamentally incompatible.
Captain Jesus therefore encouraged Christians to make a conscious decision to turn away from sinful practices and allow their faith to influence their actions.
He added that religious service should be an expression of genuine commitment to God rather than a means of concealing wrongdoing.
He reminded Christians that no one can serve two masters at the same time and urged them to choose a life that reflects God’s teachings.
