Character assassination leads to voting apathy – CHRAJ
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

John Ato Breboh, the Deputy Chief Investigator at the Tema Sub-Regional Office of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), has expressed concerns regarding the negative impact of character assassination on voter enthusiasm.

In an interview with Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle show ‘Nyansapɔ Fie,’ Breboh highlighted the detrimental effects of character assassination on the electoral process, emphasizing its potential to lead to voter apathy and polarization.

He stressed the importance of promoting a culture of respect, tolerance, and peaceful democratic processes, urging stakeholders to refrain from character assassination and undermining government institutions.

Additionally, Breboh advised electorates to be aware of their voting stations and encouraged the media to report responsibly, as they are crucial in promoting a healthy democratic process.
