Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a 21-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Côte d’Ivoire and Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.
The squad, announced for the September 24 to October 4, 2026 international window, includes a blend of experienced players and emerging talents.
Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St. Gallen, and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic have been selected as the three goalkeepers.
The defensive unit features Gideon Mensah, Baba Rahman, Jan Gyamerah, Derrick Luckassen, Nathaniel Adjei, Jerome Opoku, Kojo Oppong Peprah, and Alexander Djiku.
In midfield, Queiroz has called up Kwasi Sibo, Caleb Yirenkyi, Augustine Boakye, Ronald Donkor, and Ibrahim Sulemana.
The attacking options are Christopher Bonsu Baah, Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Ibrahim Osman, Prince Adu Kwabena, and Jordan Ayew.
Ghana will face Côte d’Ivoire in an AFCON qualifier on September 24, followed by another qualifying fixture against Gambia on September 29. The Black Stars will then take on Morocco in an international friendly in Tangier on October 4.
The squad announcement comes ahead of the Black Stars’ 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign, with Queiroz set to assess his players as Ghana prepares for the upcoming fixtures.
