Plan B FM’s family, relationship, and lifestyle show dubbed NYANSAPO FIE, hosted by Dr. Michael Asenso,on the topic “BULLYING”, comenting on the issue, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Appiah has said, bullying is a form of harassment, verbal and physical. He said sometimes leading to self doubt, depression and suicide as the bullying continues. Bullies use hurtful words and actions on purpose to discourage others, anyone can get bullied, even adults and anyone can be a bully, there are several causes of bullying such as rage, increased anger, revenge, jealousy and the urge to be in control. On the other hand, bullying has several severe effects such as self-destruction behaviors, development of nervous habits, and the risk of developing anxiety or depression or both.

Mrs Rejoyce Larweh also said in schools bullying can lead to anxiety, low self-esteem, hopelessness and isolation, Children miss lessons or are scared to attend school. They lose concentration when they do attend. Some of the effects last long after the bullying, until they are adults.

She said students who are bullied show less academic improvement due to a fear of standing out. As a result, teachers often identify those students as low achievers or unmotivated learners. These students may then receive less attention from teachers which only pushes them further down the academic rankings in their school.

Rev. Roger carl parkins also explained that bullying in relationship can be verbally abuse you all the time whether it is the way you dress or what you eat, constantly putting down a partner with words is an example of bullying behavior, they are selfish, Always putting their needs ahead of your needs is also bullying behavior. They are essentially disregarding your emotions and your needs.

He said controlling all the time from where you go to what you do on weekends, if your partner always wants to control everything, they are portraying a disregard for your opinion. It is bullying and should not be tolerated and always putting the blame on you no matter what goes wrong, you are the person who takes the blame for it that is an example of bullying behavior.
