Black Queens held their first training session in Ismailia, Egypt, on Monday evening as preparations stepped up for their crucial 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt.

Eighteen players participated in the session, led by Head Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren and his technical staff. The training focused on light recovery routines, ball work, and tactical drills aimed at helping the players adapt to the weather and playing conditions in Ismailia.

Coach Bjorkegren expressed satisfaction with the team’s commitment and intensity, noting that the players are fully focused on the task ahead. “The energy and concentration were good. Everyone understands the importance of this match,” he said after the session.

The remaining players are expected to arrive in camp within hours, completing the squad before the team’s final training session on Wednesday.

Ghana will face Egypt in the first leg of the qualifier on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ismailia–Suez Canal Stadium, before returning to Accra for the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium five days later.
