Motorists travelling on the Accra–Kumasi Highway have been advised to expect delays following a multi-vehicle collision that has completely blocked traffic at Birimso Bridge on the N6 Highway.

The crash, which involved a high-occupancy passenger bus, a loaded articulated truck and a sedan, has brought traffic in both the Accra and Kumasi directions to a standstill.

In response, officers from the Eastern South Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), based in Kibi, have implemented temporary traffic diversions to ease congestion and facilitate emergency operations.
According to the Ghana Police Service, Accra-bound vehicles are being rerouted through Kibi via Nsutam, while motorists travelling towards Kumasi have been redirected through Apedwa.
The Police have appealed to drivers and other road users to cooperate with officers managing traffic at the scene and to follow the designated diversion routes as efforts continue to clear the obstruction and restore normal movement on the highway.
