Bird Flu: Farmers Whose Farm Have Records Of The Flu Should Properly Dispose Their Infected Birds To Avoid Wide Spread Of The Disease- Veterinary Service

Poultry Farmers Reject Agric Minister’s Claim That Bird Flu Situation Is Under Control

Thirty thousand poultry have been culled due to the avian flu outbreak in Bediako-saki, a suburb in the Kpone katamanso municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

This is the largest infection in the municipality. A visit to the Delawin farm saw the veterinary and environmental officers undertaking the destruction amidst spraying of disinfectants.

Doctor Emmanuel Pecku Tema metro Director of veterinary service in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B FM’s Ebaanosen revealed that the wide spread is as of result of how the infected birds are disposed

He said that some of the farmers just discard the birds in Rubbish bins and that is the main means the disease is spreading

He said that the proper means of disposing
Is the burring style and that will help curb the spread of the disease

He concluded that farmer must educate themselves on how to go about the Avian flu and also protect themselves because it can also affect Humans.
