A National Communication team member of Movement for Change, John Kofi Adusei-Opoku has blamed the Vice president and the Flagberear of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the current hardship in Ghana.

Adusei-Opoku expressed disappointment in the Vice president for not being bold enough to let his boss Nana Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency put a stop to illegal mining commonly known as ‘galamsey’.

Illegal mining ‘galamsey’ activities is causing devastation in our forest reserves, farm lands and water bodies needs a bold concerns of the Vice president.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Adusei-Opoku stated that some Journalists sing praises to leaders who have failed to address critical issues.

Adusei-Opoku noted that leadership of Ghana must act, illegal miners assaulting journalist must face the law and dealt with should the government and the ruling New Patriotic Party is eager to fight galamsey menance.

“Leadership of Ghana must be blamed on situations in the country currently affecting the livelihood of Citizenry. Dr. Bawumia who initiated for E-Levy and Betting tax is now saying he will abolish them if elected as president” he indicated.

“Gold for Oil policy has caused the country very much. Ghana has made no benefit from the policy which was also initiated with the concerns of Dr. Bawumia” he noted.
