Lady Charlotte Hanson, Head of Public Relations Coordinating Division at the Information Service Department, has urged the public to expect bad news as it is an inherent part of life.
Appearing on Plan B FM’s Nyansapɔ Fie show with host Nana Asabea, Lady Hanson advised everyone to develop emotional intelligence to mitigate the psychological, physical and spiritual trauma that can occur when bad news strikes unexpectedly.
“Though it’s bad, it teaches you that it’s part of life,” she said.
“One would only need shock absorbers in their lives, as it can serve as advice to others.”
Drawing on her personal experience of coping with the loss of her mother, Lady Hanson encouraged others to manage their emotions effectively. This, she said, would enable them to provide comfort and support to those around them, offering consolations and encouragement when needed.
