A member of the NPP Communication Team in the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, Amos Donkor, has accused the governing NDC of making unrealistic promises to Ghanaians in its bid to win political power.
His comments follow concerns raised by the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG) over what it describes as unauthorised fuel price increases at some filling stations across the country.
In a statement issued on June 11, 2026, the association alleged that some fuel stations, particularly Shell and TotalEnergies outlets, had increased pump prices despite there being no official review for the current pricing window. According to the group, fuel prices have risen from GH¢15.60 per litre to approximately GH¢15.90 per litre.
The association expressed concern that the increase would further burden commercial drivers, transport operators, and commuters who are already struggling with rising living costs and operational expenses.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem, hosted by Abusuapanin Mireku, Amos Donkor said the NDC, while in opposition, made lofty promises to Ghanaians, assuring them of solutions to the country’s economic challenges and offering what he described as an overly optimistic vision of governance.
He urged commercial drivers and transport operators to put pressure on the government to reduce fuel prices and take the necessary steps to restore normalcy in the petroleum sector.
