Member of Parliament for Tema Central, Yves Hanson-Nortey has described a recent publication that indicated that he defrauded star assurance to the tune of GHC 25 million as misleading and maliciously calculated dent on his reputation as a Member of Parliament.
In a statement sighted by PLAN B FM, the Member of Parliament indicated that the said case in question was a fraud perpetuated against his company and not the other way round.
“For the record, the case in question is a matter of fraud perpetuated against my company, Apex Petroleum. The said fraud consequently resulted in a debt. The criminal element of the matter has been under investigation by the Ghana Police Service since 2020”, the statement read.
He further indicated that he is rather a victim to fraud and not a perpetrator as publicized.
“I am therefore the one at loss as to why this erroneous impression is being created in the publication”, he said.
The Member of Parliament then indicated that all civil aspect of the issue has been pursed in the Accra High Court.
“I wish to state that I have carried out all my activities as a businessman with due diligence and I crave the indulgence of the public to ignore the falsehood of this publication”, the statement concluded.
