The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has disclosed that his office has concluded investigations into another high-profile corruption case.
Providing details during the Government’s Accountability Series on Thursday, December 18, 2025, Dr Ayine said the case involves politically-exposed persons.

He added that his office will officially announce the charges against the accused, whose identity he is yet to disclose, on Monday, December 22, 2025.
“We have another announcement to make on Monday involving some high-profile, politically-exposed persons that got themselves involved in certain criminal activities,” he said.
The Attorney General also took the opportunity to provide a breakdown of recoveries accomplished by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), disclosing that the office has exceeded its 2025 recovery target.
“Now, in terms of recoveries, the Economic and Organised Crime Office has exceeded the 2025 target which was set at GH¢200 million. Recoveries currently stand at GH¢337.4 million. This figure means that it has exceeded its 2025 recovery by over GH¢133.4 million,” the AG revealed.
Dr Ayine said that EOCO’s recoveries, which represent completed cases of both direct and indirect recoveries, mark the highest recovery since the agency’s inception.
“This is the highest recovery in the history of the agency. The recovery represents completed cases of both direct and indirect recoveries. Direct recoveries are recoveries that are deposited directly into the exhibit account of the office. This currently stands at about GH¢194 million.

“Indirect recoveries, on the other hand, are recoveries that are paid directly to either GRA or the consolidated fund. This amount stands at GH¢142.6 million. The success story of the Economic and Organised Crime Office shows that institutions matter, but institutional leadership is crucial,” he added.
