A farmer has been found dead on a pear tree at Ashiresu in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti region.

The farmer, identified as Alhaji Malik, was found with gunshot wounds in the head and blood stains on Sunday,  May 12, 2024.

Some have attributed the incident to murder.

Details emerging indicate that the farmer had gone to the farm to harvest the pear to go and sell.

However, he was found dead on the tree with his ‘aboboyaa’ abandoned at the scene of the incident.

Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Kofi Gyabaa said the family of the farmer was worried since he did not return home, so they went in search of him only to find his lifeless body on the tree.

Blood was also flowing from his head on the floor when he was discovered.

The police were later informed, and an investigation into the incident has started.

The body was later released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

The late farmer left behind a wife and more than six children.
